ChungHwa Telecom NGN-IMS now powered by Softfoundry's Vmeet UC and VC.

ChungHwa Telecom( CHT), the largest Carrier operator in Taiwan, has decided to deploy Vmeet  IMS platform for their future VoIP and Mulitimedia delivery over the fixed and mobile network in their upcoming NGN and IMS total application solutions.
 
The Softfoundry's Vmeet platform is the most complete Full High Definition  based converged system  which offers the  SIP protocal for presence, IM, Voip, SMS, call forward, AV messaging, video conference, iptv,  MCU, collaboration,   VOD, closed user group, location based service and billings with  seamless roaming over  fixed and mobile converged network, all  in secured Carrier class operation.  3G mobile phone, smartphone  or 3G netbook can now video  or voice conference with softphone software in PC over wifi, Wimax or fixline  connections anytime anyplace.  This project also include call centers for police or fire department to handle emergency situations.  Similarly,  Softfoundry has also deployed service for Ningbo city( in China) and  Ministry of Health ( MOH) in Vietnam for the  Multi-HD video conferenc and collaboration applications.  ShangHai city government is planning to use Vmeet  for one of the communication mode for their upcoming  World Expo 2010.
 
The NGN-IMS is the core future network to converge all 4G mobile with current many types of 3G mobile, as well as Wifi, Wimax and many  types of  wireline connections in a Fixed mobile convergence( FMC) mode for the total communication, meeting and digital content needs.  It is probably one of the most important platform ever since the GSM was invented for mobile communication.
 
Since Vmeet is the software based solution and platform,  where there  are endless types of  hardware devices, PC,  best of breed  Cameras, Speaker phones and Displays,  could be all deployed together with Vmeet  in the future.   Corporate IT officers should not worry anymore for the future upgradability of such system, unlike the hardware based system which could be obsolete in a few years without any possibility to get expanded or updated. Vmeet already  offers the connectivity in the same conference  with most of the commercially available hardware based video conference so Vmeet offers the clear upgrade path for users using other hardware VC systems.
