Softfoundry today announces the World's most powerful PC based VMEET Telepresence meeting and collaboration system, which has more than three times the performance advantage over the nearest competitors' system. This Telepresence system will be the focus of the Softfoundry exhibits in both Messe Nagoya (Japan) during 11 to 14 of November and in ShenZhen High-tech show (China) in the following week.

This PC based executive room Telepresence unit could support 8 giant screens with 4 1080P HD camera inputs in each location. The ultra-efficient codec and algorithm could support 16 channels of 1080P HD from 16 concurrent participant locations in one conference, using a PC with single Intel i7-975 CPU. The meeting could be conducted using the Point to Point, MCU or the IPTV modes. The patented SFDV codec reduces the bandwidth to barely minimum that in some cases, the public internet, instead of leased private lines could be used for this High Definition video conference. Each of the multiple screens can all display the individual 1080P video for both the point to point or MCU modes. The standard H.264 codec or several other codecs are also supported for easier inter-operatibility.

Realizing the need for mobile executives travelling around but still in need of meetings in telepresence mode, Softoundry also offers the mobile Telepresence client software that could fit into the netbook (in 720P mode) or other notebooks with 3G HSPA or Wimax connections.

The legacy standard DSP based video conference clients and MCU servers hardware that are used by so many customers worldwide, has been out performed by software based system with single general purpose CPU.  This undisputable trend has make the Telepresence class video conference and collaboration, lot more flexible and affordable. In addition, all client software has been complimented with the web based version to simplify the user experience.

With this new addition of product line, Softfoundry can now serve the complete market needs from using the Carrier class servers, to various clients of fixed or mobile users, with room based Telepresence or netbooks. Other advantages such as the totally secured communication covering almost unlimited number of participants using closed users group and expanded into various business sectors such as Government, School, enterprises and SMB.
